Job Title: Sr. Netcool Implementation Consultant

Minimum Required Skills: Service assurance solution implementation, installation, and configuration experience with multiple NETCOOL products such as Omnibus, Impact, RAD, Webtop.

Primary Focus:

  • Install and configure Netcool products and components to integrate them with the customer's Network Management, Operations Support, and Business Support Systems.
  • Create tailor-made solutions by customizing Netcool solutions for reproducibility
  • Serve as a technology expert in Fault, Performance, Repair, and/or Trouble Management Software applications
  • Automate Network Management processes and develop Network Tools
  • Provide guidance, training, and direction to engineering staff and lead a deployment team
  • Develop clear and concise technical project documentation
  • Communicate effectively and work closely with Project Managers, Solutions Architects, and Clients
  • Understand client business requirements and map technology offerings
  • Meet and exceed client expectations

Essential Technical Skills Required:

  • Fault, Performance, Repair and /or Trouble Management expertise
  • A combination of at least 2 components: MICROMUSE/IBM NETCOOL * Omnibus, Webtop, ISM, SSM, Impact, Object Server, RAD
  • Recent Install and Configuration of Netcool
  • Ability to create probes, rules, traps
  • NCC or ready to become NCC within 3 to 6 months
  • Expert level skills in UNIX Administration (Solaris) and Perl/Shell scripting
  • SQL

Desired Skills:

  • Netcool Proviso and Precision
  • NerveCenter, Infovista SMARTS BMC Remedy/Patrol, Amdocs, MOM, NetIQ, TADDM, and/or Voyance is a HUGE plus
  • Technical Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Full-time salaried position. Requires weekly travel from 50% to 75%, leaving Monday and returning Thursday/Friday.
